History

Professor Amaranth first appeared in Leaping Toward the Dream!, when he greeted Goh and Ash as they arrived at his craft. After filling them in on what Project Mew was about, Professor Amaranth assigned them the task of capturing an Alolan Ninetales that could be found on Mount Coronet. Professor Amaranth reappeared once Goh has completed his mission and promised to return it to its home.

In Trial on a Golden Scale!, Professor Amaranth appeared to greet Goh and Ash after they helped Danika and Quillon deal with a group of Pokémon Hunters led by Nito. Amaranth also assured Goh that the poachers' Pokémon would be rescued and returned to their natural habitat.

In Chasing to the Finish!, after the last Trial Missions had concluded, Professor Amaranth contacted the challengers and announced the Top 3 who would become Chasers: Gary, Horace, and Goh.

In A Flood of Torrential Gains!, Professor Amaranth met with the other members of Project Mew in Slateport City to begin the final expedition to Faraway Island in search of Mew. After the expedition concluded in In the Palms of our Hands!, Amaranth temporarily disbanded Project Mew, with only Danika and Quillon permanently remaining on the project, while Gary, Goh, and Horace all decided they needed time to decide what to do next. Even so, Amaranth decided to leave the door for them to rejoin Project Mew when their next expedition would happen.
